What is 1″ Overlay / 1/2″ Overlay?

This term refers to how much the cabinet door overlaps the face frame of the cabinet box. A 1″ overlay means that the door extends 1 inch over the frame, leaving less of the frame visible, which gives a more modern, seamless look. A 1/2″ overlay leaves more of the cabinet frame visible, providing a more traditional appearance.
